Before you install
Three things to know first.
These are not terms and conditions. They describe where this build actually stands.
The macOS build is unsigned and not notarized
There is no Apple Developer account behind this build yet, so it carries no Developer ID signature and has not been notarized by Apple. macOS Gatekeeper will block the first launch and say the developer cannot be verified. The package is not corrupt; the approval steps are below.
The Windows package has not been tested on real hardware
It can be built on macOS, but it has never been run on a real Windows machine. SmartScreen may show “Windows protected your PC” on first launch. If something goes wrong, please note your Windows version and the exact message.
No Intel Mac build
Only an Apple Silicon (arm64) build is available. Intel Macs cannot use this package; please do not download it and try repeatedly.
This site is the only release channel. If you got a file with the same name elsewhere, verify it against the SHA-256 values below.
Windows
Unzip, double-click, done.
A portable package — there is no installer wizard.
- Unzip the archive. You get SameSend-1.0.0-x64-portable.exe. Unzip to a permanent folder first; do not double-click from inside the archive.
- Run the executable. If “Windows protected your PC” appears, choose “More info” → “Run anyway”. The package is not code-signed yet; this is not a virus warning.
- Put phone and computer on the same Wi-Fi. The app shows a QR code. Scan it with your phone's camera — it opens a web page, and there is no app to install.
If the QR code does not open
First check that phone and computer are on the same local network and that the computer firewall is not blocking the app. You can also type the local address shown in the app window into your phone browser.
macOS
Drag it to Applications, then approve once.
Apple Silicon (M1–M4) only.
- Unzip and open the DMG. Unzip SameSend-1.0.0-arm64.dmg.zip, then double-click the resulting .dmg to mount it.
- Drag the app into Applications. In the mounted volume window, drag the app icon onto the Applications folder.
- First launch: right-click → Open. In Applications, right-click (or Control-click) the app, choose “Open”, then confirm “Open” in the dialog. A plain double-click will be blocked by Gatekeeper.
- Still blocked? Approve it in System Settings. Open “System Settings → Privacy & Security”, find the blocked-app notice near the bottom, click “Open Anyway”, then launch the app again.
Why manual approval is needed
Without a signature, macOS cannot confirm the app's publisher or integrity. Approving it means you have decided to trust this source. Download only from this site; if the file came from a chat forward or a third-party drive, discard it and download again.
